NCS Careers Inspiration Team

If you are a school or college or an employer looking to forge links between education and business the National Careers Service Careers Inspiration Team can help.

Brokering the relationship and bridging the gap between education and employment; adding value to existing practice. Enabling people to make informed progression decisions leading to rewarding and sustainable careers.

What can we do for you?

  • Help match employers with schools to enhance their Careers Education programme
  • Provide Continuous Professional Development to school staff about local Labour Market Information – often supported by an employer

Activities in schools have varied depending on what the school and employer wants and is able to provide.  Previous examples of engagement activity include:

  • Classroom talks/presentations links to learning pathways
  • Inspirational talks/assembly to year groups
  • Enterprise/employability skills activity
  • Promotion of future opportunities at a careers fair

What are the benefits?

Businesses that engage with the Careers Inspiration Team will promote not only their own organisation but the industrial sector they represent too.

Employers can inform and inspire the future generation to consider opportunities with their organisation or in their industry.

In addition employers can impart knowledge about how young people can prepare themselves most effectively for the ever changing world of work. What qualifications, skills, attitudes and behaviours are appropriate in today’s world of work? Helping to ensure that potential future applicants have realistic expectations and are well prepared to make a good impression.

Who is it for?

Schools, colleges and employers across Lancashire.
