Edwina Grant OBE
Executive Director of Education and Children's Services
Edwina is Executive Director of Education and Children’s Services, taking up her post in late December 2018.
Edwina is chair of the Health, Care and Additional Needs committee for the Association Directors of Children’s Services. She also leads for ADCS in the North West on the workforce aspects of leadership development and is on the council of reference for the National Audit Office.
Prior to this she was the Lead Children’s Services adviser for the Local Government Association (LGA) and was an LGA adviser for the East Midlands and London.
She was also Chair of the Children’s Improvement Board for Croydon, a senior adviser for Newton Europe and Chair of the Children’s improvement Board for Manchester.
From 2001 to 2014, Edwina was a Director of Children’s Services, specialising in councils than needed to improve rapidly in both education and children’s social care. This was in the London Borough of Redbridge, Nottingham City and Central Bedfordshire, which became a new unitary council out of the county area of Bedfordshire when she joined them in 2008. In this last role she was also Deputy Chief Executive.
