Apprentice Project Officer | Connect To Work | Preston

Salary: £28,142 – £32,061 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full time (37 hours per week)
Location: County Hall, Preston

Are you looking to build a career in project management while making a real difference in people’s lives? Join the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub as an Apprentice Project Officer and support the delivery of the Connect to Work programme—helping individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment find meaningful work.

This is a developmental role where you will work towards the Associate Project Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship, gaining hands-on experience and a nationally recognised qualification.

As an Apprentice Project Officer, you will:

  • Provide administrative and project support to the Connect to Work programme team.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and delivering programme activities and events.
  • Manage team calendars, inboxes, and meeting logistics.
  • Support data input, reporting, and analysis using tools like Excel, Power BI, and CRM systems.
  • Help with marketing and communications, including social media and website updates.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) including English and Maths.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.

This is an apprenticeship role and is not suitable for candidates who already hold a project management qualification at Level 4 or above. The successful candidate must be eligible for apprenticeship funding and willing to undertake the Associate Project Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship as part of the role.

Project Coordinator | Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub Apprenticeship Service

Salary: £36,363 – £40,777 per annum
Contract: Full Time, 37 hours per week | Fixed Term until 31/10/2026
Location: Preston

Are you passionate about supporting businesses and driving skills development across Lancashire? Join the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub as a Project Coordinator and play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Lancashire Apprenticeship Service, helping SMEs access grants and wraparound support to recruit and retain young apprentices.

As a Project Coordinator, you will:

  • Manage and deliver the Young Apprentice Grant project, ensuring targets, budgets, and timescales are met.
  • Provide impartial advice and guidance to businesses on apprenticeships and workforce development.
  • Build strong relationships with employers, partners, and stakeholders to promote apprenticeships and the Lancashire Skills Pledge.
  • Develop and implement communications and engagement plans, including attending events and networking opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support and organise events to grow the apprenticeship numbers in Lancashire.

What we’re looking for:

  • GCSE Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting project delivery and working with IT systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage businesses.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeships, including levels, standards, and support organisations.
