Lancashire Careers Hub

UNLOCKING THE POTENTIAL OF LANCASHIRE’S FUTURE WORKFORCE
Lancashire Careers Hub is a collaboration of 154 secondary schools and colleges across the whole region who work together to deliver the Gatsby benchmarks. Collaborating with business partners, the public, education and voluntary sectors, they help improve careers outcomes for young people.

The Lancashire Careers Hub is a network funded by the Careers & Enterprise Company.  Our Network in Lancashire is co-funded by the Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Council and Blackpool Council and delivered on its behalf by Inspira.

Our Network connects schools, academies and colleges with local employers and dynamic careers programme providers. We work together to create inspirational and meaningful encounters for young people within the world of work.

Evidence proves that a young person who has four or more encounters with an employer is 86% less likely to be unemployed or not in education or training, and can earn up to 18% more during their career.

Through both strategic planning and practical activity, the Lancashire Careers Hub inspires young people to get to know the world of work, understand what work is, explore their options and build real confidence about their future.

By bringing the right people together to create strong connections that put young people’s futures first and helps Lancashire’s economy to grow and prosper, we are on an exciting and positive journey.

Why not join us and be a part of your local network?

To find out more about volunteering just an hour of your time or becoming an Enterprise Adviser, sign up to the Lancashire Skills Pledge, where knowledgeable professionals can contact you to discuss how inspiring young people will benefit your business.

Work Ready Lancashire

Working in partnership the Lancashire Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub and the Lancashire Careers Hub have developed this resource following employer feedback.

This common language agreement aims to foster a unified understanding among young people, educational institutions, and employers in Lancashire regarding the essential skills needed for employment readiness.. This approach has been developed to better support the young people of Lancashire to ‘Effectively Transition’ from education into the world of work.

By working together, we can improve the careers of Lancashire’s young people.
