Informed Approach

Helping to influence and inform Lancashire’s priorities

Understanding the skills and employment issues facing Lancashire’s businesses and across industries is vital to enable appropriate priorities to be set so that we work together to achieve effective objectives.

Our objectives within the Informed Approach strategic theme are:

  • Continue to refresh the skills and employment evidence base and the LMI Toolkit
  • Use the framework and allied intelligence to influence , prioritise and direct the use of mainstream and discretionary funding
  • Connect with other Local Enterprise Partnership areas to influence, collaborate and share good practise
  • Work with HMG to evaluate ‘what works’ and influence future policy and provision

We would like our partners and stakeholders to contribute to this work so that the Informed Approach is a true reflection of the skills and employment needs of Lancashire.

The diverse industries that make up the Lancashire economy all have different skills needs and priorities, and it is essential that we understand these when we make strategic plans or investment decisions.

Our objectives are shaped by the information and intelligence provided by our stakeholders. We need your engagement to ensure that the Informed Approach and Evidence Base is robust and the work it directs has impact.

  • Do young people leaving education have the skills they need to work in your business?
  • Do you struggle to recruit?
  • Does your industry have a shortage of people with the right skills?

If you would like to contribute to our evidence base please contact us.
