General Manager People: E H Booths (Booths Supermarket)

With over 30 years experience in both retail and the FE sectors, Helen is passionate about driving the link between education programmes and the skills and knowledge required by employers in today’s workplace.

She is a champion of inclusivity in the workplace and is passionate about the role employers play in supporting the communities they serve. With a Post-grad in HR, Helen is currently General Manager People at the high end Northern Supermarket chain, Booths, and is responsible for HR, Learning & Development and Internal Communications – supporting over 3000 colleagues across the 3 operational arms of the business (Retail, Manufacturing and Logistics). With 175 years of history behind them, the Booths family business includes 27 stores across Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire and Yorkshire.

Previously, Helen has delivered ESF training initiatives and Apprenticeships at Preston College following roles in Regional Management, where she was responsible for all UK and overseas franchising for French Connection PLC
