Cllr Karen Buckley
Council Leader Chairman of Finance & Democracy Committee
Karen is a Solicitor and Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Central Lancashire where she heads up the Law Clinic. She also lectures post-graduates and apprentices on the School of Justice’s Legal Practice Masters Course and the new preparatory courses for the Solicitors Qualifying Exams. Prior to joining the University Karen practised in family law for Inghams Solicitors in Blackpool.
Since 2007 Karen has been an elected member at Fylde Borough Council and in 2020 took on the role of Council Leader. She also chairs the Finance & Democracy Committee at Fylde and joins with Leaders at Blackpool and Wyre Councils on the Economic Prosperity Board whose focus is to bring improvements to the Fylde Coast.
